Glass objects:
Glass fever’
In the summer of 2004 Ans started casting and blowing glass, glass being to her a material with which she can identify herself and life. ‘Glass does not allow itself to be moulded in any shape, only in the right one’. When trying to find that shape, fanciful, round and recalcitrant forms come into being, which are polished in some places. Most challenging are combinations with materials like copper, for example..’ For photos of these objects, click on ‘GALERIE’.

Celestial Nests:
Initially these nests were created as a décor for the Greek comedy ‘Lysistrata’ by Aristophanes, a theme that still appeals to one’s imagination. The Greek women were so fed up with the endless war that they decided to force their husbands to secure peace by refusing all sexual favours whatsoever. Their ‘weapon’, causing much tension for the male population, proved to be effective and soon peace was concluded. Inspired by this play Ans designed these ‘Celestial Nests', as, in her opinion, all these women did was protecting their ‘Nests’. The Nest, symbol of protection: ‘They who protect the nest’. These ‘Celestial Nests’ are fore hire for baby welcoming parties, weddings, parties and events.
